7-9 p.m. - Financial Aid Night
The University of Wisconsin-River Falls will host its annual Financial Aid Night
from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6th in the University Center's Riverview
Ballroom. High School students and their families are invited to attend the free
workshop, which will include information on the 2009-2010 Free Application for
Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), how to complete the FAFSA online, and Federal and State
Financial Aid Programs. Drawings will be held for gift baskets for college-bound

Play with luminous colors while learning the basics of painting with pastels. In
this introductory workshop you will explore a variety of pastel painting techniques
and fundamental application forms. Informative presentations, demonstrations and
individual instruction offer many opportunities for all experience levels. Bring
photos/ideas, chalk pastels (supply list provided) and a bag lunch. Instructor

4-5 p.m. - Free Yoga Classes
Wellness Wednesdays are changing to Mind/Body Mondays beginning Monday, February 2,
from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Falcons Nest of the UC. Student Health and Counseling Services
will offer free weekly yoga classes spring semester to all students, faculty, and
staff. Please bring a yoga mat and a water bottle. Yoga mats will soon be available

10 a.m. - Discover the Roots of Happiness
Student Health and Counseling Services cordially invites you and your classes to
attend "The Roots of Happiness" presented by Dr. Linda DiRaimando.
In this day-long seminar we will examine and explore the authentic roots of peace,
joy, and well-being. What truly brings us happiness in our daily living? As we
discover both the internal and external forces that nourish us - physically,
mentally, emotionally, and spiritually - we will look at how to cultivate this
wisdom of wellness within our many roles at home, at work, and in our communities.
Dr. Linda DiRaimondo practices integrative psychiatry and psychotherapy in Madison,
Wisconsin. She combines conventional medicine with holistic practices to address the
health and well-being of mind, body, and spirit.

We are very fortunate to have Tim Wise join us with his lecture: Beyond “Diversity”: Challenging Racism in an Age of Backlash. Tim Wise is among the most prominent anti-racist writers and activists in the U.S. He has spoken to over 300,000 people in 48 states, and on over 350 college campuses, including Harvard, Stanford, and the Law Schools at Yale and Columbia.
